每两到三年国际剧协就会和某一个国际剧协中心及当地城市联合举办一个重要活动：ITI世界代表大会。会议汇集了来自各大洲的ITI成员。ITI世界代表大会全程分为四个环节：

1) 艺术表演（当地本土表演和国际表演），国际合作项目
2) 教育学术：包括自我展示、研讨会、大师班、研讨会、会议、圆桌会议等。
3) 人文部分：研讨会和演讲，社区项目
4) 法定环节：代表大会以及委员会、联盟、论坛和项目组会议。

自成立以来，ITI已经举办过35届世界代表大会，最近一次ITI世界代表大会于2017年在西班牙塞哥维亚举办。

The International Theatre Institute ITI is pleased to announce that the 36th ITI World Congress will happen onsite from 20-25 February 2023 in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. The event will be hosted and co-organized by the Fujairah Government, with the support from H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah and the Supreme Council Member of UAE, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. The 36th ITI World Congress will be under the patronage of UNESCO.

The theme of the 36th ITI World Congress:
“Reunite, for the Performing Arts and Humanism”.
