"Women of Theatre" International exhibition online

In the framework of World Theatre Day 2005 and of InternationalWomen's Month, The International Theatre Institute honours Women of Theatre across the world.
We wish to thank the ITI National Centres who have sent in photos and short biographical texts to honour theatre women who have contributed in a particularly significant way to the performing arts field of their respective countries. A special focus has been placed on presenting women from fields of theatre in which they are often under represented, such as directing and playwriting.
Over thirty countries have responded so far and over fifty theatre women now appear in our online exhibition, which shall evolve over time and with input from other Centres.
ITI Centres and Cooperating members are free to print these texts and photos to create their own international exhibitions.
