ITI General Secretariat

The Central Bureau of the ITI – the General Secretariat – is based at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. It consists of the General Secretary and further staff as required. The General Secretariat is the executive organ of the organization. The General Secretary is responsible for the execution of the programmes of the ITI. The responsibilities of the General Secretary are exclusively international in nature. In the discharge of his or her duties, he or she shall not seek or receive instructions from any Centre, nor from any authority external to the Institute.
